“80% of Europeans are either COMT Val/Met or Met/Met meaning that the enzyme (catechol-o-methyltransferase) that breaks down dopamine, epinephrine, norepinephrine, and estrogen contains methionine which is inhibited by the presence of mercury. This is why mercury exposed people experience anxiety, insomnia, fear, hyperactivity, anger and many other emotional conditions. This also explains hyper-estrogen.” ~ Russ Tanner

The Emotional Effects of Mercury

Including Various Personality Changes

Did you know that many emotional, psychological, and neurological issues today may be side effects of mercury toxicity?

Below is a list of the emotional effects of mercury.

Panic Attacks

Anger; Short Temper; Sudden Outbursts of Emotion, Rage

General Fear, even when you know everything is alright

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

Photophobia; A condition when bright light hurts your eyes. It’s believed that the iris becomes less reactive when mercury toxic.

Mood Sensitivities when consuming sugar or caffeine (they both act as transport mechanisms for mercury through cell walls).

“Withdrawal” Symptoms 20 to 24 hours after consuming caffeine or sugar. Symptoms include headaches and body pain, especially in areas with many capillaries like joints, eyes, and brain. Also, cold joints such as knees and elbows because of capillary constriction.

Bed Wetting; often induced by vivid dreams

Poor Listening Skills; Wandering Mind; Easily Distracted

Inability to Concentrate or Focus

Short-Term Memory Loss; What did I come into the kitchen for?

Fear/Avoidance of Confrontation

Lack of Self Discipline; Inability to follow through with plans

Rebelliousness; Testing limits of life or relationships

“Mad” behavior: Erratic, spontaneous, emotional, including frequent outbursts.

Characterization behavior: Spontaneously mimicking others or impersonating fictional characters (such as television characters).

Difficulty multitasking: Anxiety over unfinished projects.

“Automatic” Behavior: Perfoming tasks without being cognitively invested, resulting in later not remembering if a task was done: “Did I turn off the stove?”

Thoughtless Behavior: Not considering the emotions or situations of others.

Mercury interferes with all body systems including hormone production. When GABA (gamma-Aminobutyric acid) production is inhibited, emotions become amplified and can become out-of-control. Worry about small issues becomes obsessive and overwhelming.

Mercury is called “The Fear Drug” because it quite literally induces fear into the subject who is exposed.

Different people are affected differently, but virtually everyone shows some symptomatic manifestation when exposed to mercury over time.

Young teens often start exhibiting rebelliousness, laziness, apathy, or disconnection after placement of first amalgam fillings. Society has been taught to blame it on “hormones”.

Mercury may now be a global epidemic because of ongoing “chemtrail” aerosol injection (spraying) of coal fly ash which contains large amounts of methyl-mercury, the same type of mercury found in fish.

Compact fluorescent light bulbs also contains large amounts of mercury. According to a study conducted by the State of Maine, if you break a CFL light bulb in your house, you will likely be exposed to hazardous, disease-causing levels of mercury even after an EPA-approved cleanup is completed.
